A happy belated Halloween and a blessed Samhain season, my darlings. This time of year is always so bittersweet for me as it comes and goes. If I had it my way, we’d live in eternal autumn, and Halloween would be a monthly affair. Alas, that is not the case, and it has been an exceedingly busy time for me between work and long-scheduled events that show no sign of stopping anytime soon. In fact, I suspect my schedule may be tragically packed until spring, and I apologize to anyone I have struggled to keep up with during this time, which has been difficult for me on the best of days this year, as I lamented in my previous post here. More on that later. For now, onto project updates~ ₊˚✩⊹
Project Updates
I’m skipping the percentages here today regarding my massive to-do list. Though, fret not; it will return with my next update. As I’ve done a bit of refreshing, moving notes around, and focusing on a select few tasks that I’d like to have finished before the year’s end, however, I simply couldn’t stand to look at it and feel as though I’ve accomplished nothing, though the truth is very much to the contrary.
🖤 Dezy Delaceur, LLC: As you can see here, there’s been a recent refresh to the website – with my other websites to follow a bit later. The perfectionist that I am, it’ll probably be a while before I’m really satisfied with the look of them all, especially considering that I have very particular artistic goals for each. Web design in the modern era is rough enough with even the most minimal of designs, given the variety of devices people use to browse them these days. Each website has to look good and be simply to navigate at every size screen, and it can be challenging to find a way to do that while also maintaining your desired style throughout. I don’t think I know of any websites currently that I feel accomplish this (certainly not those created by big tech companies who have all seemingly fallen ill with same face syndrome), though I am open to suggestion. But that’s enough complaining about that.
Going forward into the new year, my goal overall as a creative business owner is to bite the bullet and get better about social media marketing. Sort of. I’ll still very much be myself. I have no intention of being any less than authentic, even at the cost of algorithmic strangulation. I just mean I need to post more frequently and be more on top of sharing my ventures. I do have a vlog narrating my previous post which I’ve released on my YouTube channel since my last update, with more, hopefully, to come over the year ahead.
As a reminder, if you are someone who does a lot of magick and/or manifestation work: Now is a good time to pick up Dezy Delaceur’s Magickal Daybook, an undated annual planner with lots of addition space for that sort of work, monthly calendar spreads, weekly spreads, and space for review at the end of each month. It’s aesthetically beautiful with a scrapbook-like mixed media feel, and I am still really proud of how it all turned out. I use it regularly myself. If you prefer printables or digital PDF downloads, you can get A5 page bundles from the same series on Gumroad for the time being. These will be moved to the boutique in the future, but prices will remain the same, and, eventually, I will also be putting together physical books for a guided grimoire, a guided year-long sketchbook, and a guided year-long writing journal. Finally, if all goes well, I will likely have the space next year to start working on sticker sheets to sell alongside this planner series, as well.
💜 The Witchy Housewife: Things are going very smoothly over at The Witchy Housewife. I’m nearing the end of my sabbat series of articles. Traffic is increasing. Sales are picking up. Before the end of the year, I hope to have the Digital Grimoire completed, my first batch of magickal blends up for sale again, the rest of my intuitive services available for purchase, and my accompanying YouTube channel up and running with audio versions of my articles before the year’s end. This may be a little lofty, so we shall see how it goes. If all goes well, next year will be focused on the definitive book regarding my religious path and getting more handmade products up for sale. A decent amount of artwork made for the book will also go towards purchasable decor.
❤️ Luxe Gothique Boutique: Growth on the luxury gothic boutique has been slow, as other things have taken more of a priority. Once a large chunk of my current workload is wrapped up to meet deadlines, the boutique will finally receive the attention it deserves. Though I am limited on time and resources for the moment, I have done a bit of research behind the scenes regarding manufacturers for the more unique silhouettes I wish to design. I am still thinking on that decision, but expect to see some growth in this department next year in every category of product I plan to offer.
💚 Dezydration: I cannot get over how much my art style has grown in recent years, and as with the boutique, next year will be very big for my work under Dezydration. There has been a lot of content in the works under this umbrella over the past year: Writing and concept work for A Little Town Called Lorauvial, catch-up on my art backlog, a reworked model for my YouTube channel since becoming more acquainted with Live2D Cubism, and tons of gaming footage to be edited and shared with entertaining (somewhere between conversational and video essay style) commentary. You’ll notice the Your Character Here commissions which I made available. There is a lot to be spruced up on my website for SEO purposes, though it would also help if I was also more active on social media. Due to low traffic for the moment, I’ve decided to extend the duration they’ll be available until they run out. My listings will be updated accordingly when that happens. Otherwise, there are a few new goodies in the art shop in general.
As I’ve already mentioned, I am very much falling in love with traditional mediums again, and I think I may attempt to transition more into traditional work and a traditional-influenced digital style next year. I’ve been experimenting with acrylic gouache, alcohol and acrylic markers, colored pencils, and watercolors. I’ve also been practicing painting on furniture, which will become relevant in my own life very soon as I am on the journey to become a homeowner and will also be extended to the refurbishing work for the boutique once I have grown comfortable enough with my process in that regard.
💙 Nightshade’s Auralcraft: I know my circle here has been pretty separate by my own design from my other work around here, but for those that do engage with my affirmation or ambience audios: I have been taking a little break since the last batch of my subliminal refresh launched. I do plan to pick back up on that soon, starting with getting some affirmations written later this week. I also plan on revising a small book I’ve written on the topic of this particular tool for manifestation for release to a wider audience, as I’ve learned a lot since it was written. I will announce that once the time comes. As for my ambience work, I’d like to get back to that next year. I do have a very long list of ideas, and I really enjoy having ambience around me while I work on other things, which was the whole reason I started making mixes in the first place.
🔒 Secret Projects: There is a very large confidential project I have been tasked with recently which has been taking up a lot of time. While I cannot say much more than that at this time, I will say that the work I’ve done for it has played a huge role in the evolution of my artwork. I am excited to see it come to fruition and to share it with you all when the time is right.
Life Updates
Beyond searching for a house and tending to big family and friend events, I have been trying to set aside some time in my day to relax with myself, to pray, to meditate, to grant myself a little bit of leisure. I’ve switched from OneNote back to Notion recently, which has me journaling regularly again. There’s always so much going on in my mind, and I sometimes forget how much of a relief it is to let it spill over onto a page of text. If my mind is clear enough, my journaling time will instead go to my studies on Greek culture and history and language, philosophy, metaphysical explorations, and herbalism.
I have also recently subscribed to the print version of Enchanted Living Magazine (formerly Faerie Magazine), and I am beyond excited to start receiving them in the mail. I only learned of this magazine recently through the subreddit for a particular singer I’m fond of who was featured in it once upon a time, and I’m surprised I hadn’t discovered it sooner. It is so incredibly up my alley as someone obsessed with all things whimsical, magical, and romantic. I’m going to be combing through all of their digital articles and trying to get my hands on as many physical back issues as possible. If you or someone you know is trying to get rid of any back issues, I will happily and unabashedly take them off their hands for them.
Also, in the realm of leisure: I’ve been playing a lot of Baldur’s Gate 3, Expedition 33, and Palia in my evenings recently. Baldur’s Gate 3 and Expedition 33 are two of the most beautiful pieces of playable art I’ve discovered this year. Equally, it’s been wonderful to see Palia grow as both a world and a community. Outside of gaming, I am now eagerly awaiting new episodes of Severance and The Apothecary Diaries. Reading-wise, I am on the hunt for horror, mystery, and non-smutty high fantasy recommendations. Though, truthfully, much of my allotted reading time these days goes to my nonfiction backlog. Perhaps next year, I’ll have a bit of time to be able to start doing reviews for one of my channels again.
As we approach the end of 2025, I enter the same headspace that I do at the end of nearly every year. I wonder how I can make the next year better. Of course, things can always be improved for me in the way of time management, phone management, social media management. If things continue growing at the rate they are now, perhaps I’ll be able to offload some of the work for my projects. I would love to one day be in a position to be able to provide a good place to work with good pay and good benefits in a job market that has become so awful. I would love to have physical storefronts for my metaphysical shop and boutique. I know many people are losing hope in the world; I struggle with it myself. Still, there is that sliver of optimism in me that recognizes that all it takes is one bout of luck to potentially turn your entire life around – and, perhaps, the world along with it.
Lots of love and all that jazz,
