June 2024 Update

Hello, darlings. “You’ll be hearing from me very soon,” I say before disappearing into the void again and again and again. The last three months have been incredibly busy for me – difficulties followed by sudden plans followed by periods of intense catch-up. Thankfully, this past month has been incredibly productive despite that, and I finally feel like I’m getting myself back on track again.

🖤 Dezy Delaceur (+30%): Many things have been in the works for my social media presence. My Tumblr blogs have been cleaned up and prepared for posting again – which, as I mentioned, will be my main platform as far as social media goes. I’m slowly getting back into the swing of posting. I suspect posting will becoming more regular as I move towards finishing up the checklists I put together for this post. Some of my priorities include creating artwork and assets for my websites, getting my YouTube channels running to some degree again, finishing my current book plans, and moving my shops away from Etsy and to my own websites. Still, I’ll be posting here and there.

In addition to all of that, I am nearly finished my Theogeny piece for my Mythos Reimagined series. That will be available to read for free here, though I eventually plan to collect them for physical prints, likely sorted by author. That’s for later, though. If time permits, I’d also like to work more on the Luxe Gothique Boutique over the next couple of months, put together the rest of my premade physical planners, perhaps start on planner sticker sheets, and work on some other pieces for the blog here. I admit this is all very ambitious, though. Time seems to move more quickly than it used to.

💚 Dezydration (+4%): Speaking of Tumblr, I did a deep dive into my current artwork and writing projects in this post I made yesterday. In short: I’m nearly done with my 2d model for the YouTube channel. I’m working on shading currently, which shouldn’t take too much longer. Afterwards, I can start breaking down the assets and rigging the model for use. There are some side characters for the channel that have popped up in previous videos or have just been bouncing around in my head for the channel that I’d also like to work on, and in my post, I said that I’d probably continue working on that. Thinking on it, though, I may just save it for later so I can focus on finishing other things first.

Then there’s the Hesiodos piece I did some time ago for my Mythos Reimagined series that I’ve decided to rework. I wasn’t super happy with how the first piece turned out, and since I’m so used to doing realism from direct photo reference versus from imagination or – in the case of the first piece – marble statue, I’ve decided it’s something I need more practice with anyway. Though, I did really like how my Persephone self-portrait piece turned out. Anyway, I’m doing this new piece using a set of gouache-inspired brushes. Acrylic gouache is something I’ve been super interested in lately, and I think I may make that one of my traditional mediums of choice once I return to traditional work.

I also have many YCH (Your Character Here) commission pieces I’m continuing on – though, they are on a brief pause while I work on website assets. Eventually, I will also be working on emote sets, clip art packs, marketing packages, sticks, and oracle decks. As I said, though, the website assets come first on my list. Also in the realm of new original content: I’ve moved on from my first draft outline for my upcoming webcomic, A Little Town Called Lorauvial, and I am currently making adjustments to the story, the world, and the characters before I start on official character sheets and the second draft outline.

💜 The Witchy Housewife (+5%): My biggest project for The Witchy Housewife right now is Khthonic Wicca, which has been thoroughly outlined and is currently going through a sort of organization process as well as an injection of other notes I had taken elsewhere that would fit beautifully into the book. Among the other things I’m working on are a functional tarot card picker for the homepage, preparation for new intuitive services and the return of my physical products, updates to my Patreon articles and ritual instructions, and a new article on money magick that will be published before the month wraps up.

🔒 Secret Projects (+46%): With one of my relaunches coming to completion, I can finally talk about some of these projects. For some time, I have created subliminal audios (positive affirmation audios made for the subconscious, for those who aren’t familiar) and ambience mixes under a pseudonym. It’s been a hobby of mine for a while, but I’ve decided to start taking it more seriously, and with that, I’ve completely relaunched the YouTube channels associated with them. I’ll be sharing my subliminal work on The Witchy Housewife, but for this interested in the ambience mixes I make, you can find them here on YouTube. As for my other work, it’s still a secret. 🤐💞

Moving onto life stuff, after much convincing, I went to Vegas for the first time this past week. I’m not much of a gambler and I don’t drink very often, so I wasn’t expecting it to be quite my cup of tea, but to my surprise, I actually had a really wonderful time. The rooms were lovely, the food was fantastic, and the cabana we rented was very relaxing. We also got massages (I’ve discovered I am a big fan of hot stones) and went to see LOVE by Cirque du Soleil before its set to end in July. Spectacular.

I’ve also been working through some of my reading list, making time before bed along with my usual mini-spa routine, which is a good habit to have. On top of my nonfiction reads, I am currently reading the Sookie Stackhouse series, which is so much fun. True Blood is – funnily, I suppose – one of my comfort shows that I’ll rewatch from time-to-time to take my mind back to a simpler time. Without spoiling anything, I feel the book does a lot of justice to Sookie’s character, and if you’re a fan of True Blood, I highly recommend giving the series a read. I’m also rereading The Perks of Being a Wallflower for the billionth time. Forever a favorite for me, and I still connect so deeply with different aspects of both Charlie and Sam to this day.

Otherwise, though, it’s been work work work for me. And it will continue being work work work for me for a little while longer. Until the next update, lots of love and all that jazz.
