Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions which have not been answered here, please feel free to contact me.

Where are you and your shops based?

I am located in Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. At the moment, I do not have any physical locations.

Why don’t you use your real name?

I have had some serious issues with online stalking in the past that caused me to have to get the police involved. While it is near impossible these days to be completely anonymous on the internet, I would like to preserve my privacy as much as possible. This extends to as many other details about my personal life that I am able to keep private, as well.

Where did the name ‘Dezy Delaceur’ come from?

The name ‘Dezy’ is actually a very real nickname of mine which came from the online username I still use to this day, ‘d3zydration’. The ‘Delaceur’ surname is kind of a phonetic play on the French ‘du coeur‘ (‘of the heart’) and ‘de la cour‘ (‘of the courtyard’), but the result is a fun little bit of gibberish that doesn’t exist as an actual surname.

Why do you depict yourself with elf ears, purple eyes, and fangs?

The answer to this one is extremely simple, actually: I love elves, vampires, and the color purple. Also, it’s fun. Someone derogatorily called me a grape elf lady once upon of time, and I wear that badge with pride.

Do you have any plans to open a physical storefront?

I would absolutely love to have a physical storefront for The Witchy Housewife and the Luxe Gothique Boutique someday. I’m not quite there yet, but once I’ve grown to a certain goal I’ve set for myself, I do plan to start looking into it. I’m not sure if those locations will be in New Orleans or Metairie just yet; that much will depend on property pricing.

Are you currently hiring? When will you be hiring?

No, I am not currently hiring. That said, as with my storefront, I have a certain goal to hit at which point I will begin looking into opening up some positions for artists, writers, editors, marketers, and other assistants to help me with my projects and websites. Being able to hire folks is actually one of my bigger goals right now, because I have this silly little dream of wanting to set the standards for employer practices. I want to have a culture that is comfortable to work in, a set of policies that are flexible and allow employees to be able to tend to their own lives when needed, a livable wage or salary, and incredible benefits. I will not permit myself to hire until I am able to comfortably tick all of those boxes.

How do I find out when new content/products/services are available?

For most of my content, I share updates here on my blog. For more specific updates, such as products, articles, artwork, and writing, it mostly depends on the thing you’re interested in staying updated on. For new products, website updates, and new articles on The Witchy Housewife, you may subscribe to the blog over there. For new artwork, literature, and comics, your best bet is my Dezydration Tumblr, X, or Facebook accounts, all of which can be found on my Link Compendium. For keeping up to date on absolutely everything from the moment it is posted instead of waiting for updates, my personal Tumblr is going to be your best bet. Frankly, everyone should be using Tumblr right now for the best social media experience, anyway.

Why do you work with manufacturing partners for certain products?

While I do a majority of the work you’ll see around here myself for the moment, there are certain things that I feel necessary to use a manufacturer for until I can comfortably offer a similar quality product myself. I try to be as ethical about manufacturing as possible by choosing those who are based in the US. I am always on the lookout for new and better manufacturers, as well, while still keeping my products as affordable as possible. Over on The Witchy Housewife, specifically, I also purchase stock for resale, mostly from smaller companies with a few larger ones for products I cannot find from smaller companies to make available at a good price.

Why do you charge money for [product/service]? It should be free!

As an artist and as someone running a metaphysical business, this is a question I see a nauseating amount. I hear things like, “It won’t take you that long!” and “You shouldn’t charge for a skill/talent/gift you were give for free!” and “If you’re such a skilled witch, why don’t you simply manifest your money?” and “[Other person] offers this for so much cheaper!“, and I’m going to respond to all of those comments right here. I charge for my crafts and services, first and foremost, because being a member of society is not free. And for all of the free things I make publicly available (of which there are a great many), the web hosting is also not free. Life is finite, and therefore, borrowing someone’s time and energy for the sake of a craft or service is a commodity. The value we place on that commodity is money, because that allows the person who expended that time and energy to go and keep a roof over their heads and a warm meal in their bellies. I recognize that we have a lot of greed in the world, but I strive to be countercultural to such workplace environments. I would appreciate not being grouped in with them. Likewise, there is a lot of entitlement to people’s time and energy online, seemingly as a response to this greater culture of corporate greed. Again, though, I am not of that culture.

If you feel like what I do is so easy and takes so little time, you may feel absolutely free to take care of those needs for yourself. If you feel like what I do isn’t a fair price because someone else charges less than I do, then you may feel absolutely free to give your money to that person instead. I do my best to balance fair pricing with an equally fair wage for myself. Too often, I have seen the art world in particular be negatively affected by places like Fiverr and by newer artists undervaluing their work. Craftspeople deserve a livable wage, and if you don’t agree with this belief, you should not be seeking out the time and energy craftspeople.

Finally, I want to also address the very condescending suggestion that selling my work is a result of being “unable to manifest money”. Magick takes the path of least resistance whenever able. Do you know what closing off all potentially reliable streams of income does to your money magick? It puts up more resistance. Therefore, opening up all possible streams of income does the opposite. Divine Alchemy is the joining of the Active and the Passive. Charging for my work is a part of my money magick.

Are you open to a good/service trade?

This is highly dependent upon the good or service being asked for and the good or service being offered in return. In fact, depending on what specifically you’re looking to trade, this question may already be answered in my Delegate Program. If you cannot find what you are looking for there, please feel free to contact me.

How can I commission you for artwork/writing/an article?

Information, pricing, contract terms, and applications are all available here on Dezydration Station. Additionally, I sometimes have premade YCH (Your Character Here) commissions, Adoptables, and Artwork Bundles available in my art shop at a discounted rate compared to a fully custom commission project.

How can I book a reading or spiritual service with you?

All of my intuitive services are available here over on The Witchy Housewife emporium. Alternatively, if you’re interested in a regular monthly service, I offer monthly energy forecast readings and monthly pick-a-card readings on my Monthly Blessings Patreon for as little as $4.44 per month with single purchase options available the Patreon’s shop.

What tools do you use for your artwork/crafting/witchcraft?

You can find all of the tools I use in my artwork here on my Creative Corner Benable list here, all of the books I read and recommend on my Bookshelf Benable list here, and all of the metaphysical tools and paraphernalia I use on my Witch’s Cabinet list here.

Can I repost your artwork/writing on [social media platform]?

If you would like to share my artwork or writing on social media, please first check if the artwork or writing is already present on that platform on one of my accounts listed here. I will always request that you share my work directly from me when available. If that work is not available on a particular platform or if I do not have an account listed on a particular platform, you may share an image of my artwork directly with a link to this website or a link to the writing where I am hosting it (with a snippet of 1-3 sentences permitted along with that link if desired). In both and in any case, you must credit me by name as Dezy Delaceur and you may not ever, under any circumstances, share any of my work without that explicit credit included in the post. In addition, you may not, under any circumstances, share any of my work which you have altered, and you may not ever claim my work as your own. I will take legal action against infringement.

For more information on the permitted use of my artwork, please see my 2026 Artwork Commission Contract.
Anytime you use my artwork, you are agreeing to the terms outlined within this contract.

Can I use your artwork/writing on [social media platform/website]?

In the case of avatars or other customizable portions of non-business social media pages, you may feel free to use my artwork so long as you credit me by name as Dezy Delaceur within your respective social media bio or about section. If you cannot do this, please do not use my artwork in this way. I would also very much appreciate either a tag (usually, @d3zydration) or a link to this website along with it, but this is optional. For use of my artwork on a website, that will need to be determined on a case-by-case basis and will always require proper crediting. Likewise, for use of my writing as an article or page on a website, this will also need to be determined on a case-by-case basis and will always require proper crediting. If you are interested in featuring my artwork or writing on your website, please contact me so that we can discuss a use agreement. Again, I will take legal action against infringement.

Can I host an article on your blog?

I am only open to hosting guest-written articles on relevant topics on The Witchy Housewife at this time. I do charge a small flat fee to host each guest-written article, and there are a number of requirements which must be followed for your article to quality. Please see the Delegate Program for more information on guest article hosting.

Do you do any other types of collaborations?

Besides guest article hosting on The Witchy Housewife, I am also open to collaborating on audio content, video content, artwork, and literary projects. Please see the Delegate Program for more information on these types of collaborations. If you do not see the collaboration you had in mind listed here, feel free to contact me to see if I may be interested.

Do you have programs for influencers/affiliates?

I do! I have my own special program for influencers, affiliates, and collaborators called the Delegate Program, which you can read about right here.

Do you have any tutorials on [skill]? Do you offer mentorship?

All of the information I publicly share can be found on my social media and websites as listed here. If there is a particular thing which is not available on those places, feel free to contact me and I may add it to my list of future content. Note that I am not obligated to offer tutorials, courses, or articles just because I have received a request, however. At this time, I do not offer artwork, writing, or spiritual mentorship, though I am eventually planning on offering something similar for spiritual growth sometime in the future. Just as a reminder, though, at this time (and so long as I am able to manage the amount of emails coming in), I have an open email policy and am happy to answer spiritual questions via my contact form on The Witchy Housewife.

Why do you believe in [belief]? Are you a grifter?

Since I started kindergarten, I have been teased, put down, or berated for various interests and beliefs. I was bullied by other students (and even one teacher) in school for enjoying academics. I was condescended by people I trusted for things like my romanticization of life. I’ve been scolded many, many times by strangers on the internet for various metaphysical beliefs I have, often by people who themselves believe in other weird things. And, of course, as I think most people have now, I have been shouted at and sent wonderfully graphic threats for baseless assumptions. Thus, this is a question I am including in this FAQ, and the answer is quite simple: If I share something here, I believe in it, regardless of whether or not you believe in it. On the other hand, if I don’t share something here, any notions you may have about where I stand on those beliefs are without substance – and you can ask me about them, but I am not obligated to respond. I am not a “grifter”, as this new and excited branch of cancel culture calls it. Further, I am human and allowed to be wrong and change my mind about things with new information and experiences.

Do you use AI? What are your thoughts on AI?

As someone who has been deeply affected by the creation and development of genAI, I hate genAI with a burning fiery passion. That said, I do think it is here for good, recognize that it is difficult to avoid entirely given its near-universal implementation, and acknowledge that it does have the potential to be a beneficial tool when used ethically. I only hope that we can move away from the training of it on stolen content, deprioritize it in the face of the work of real people, mitigate the use of it for creative projects that should be made by human hands, hearts, and minds, and minimize the environmental impact. In general, AI data centers and large tech corporations can get bent. That said, I, of course, do not use AI in my artwork or writing. I don’t believe these things should ever be AI-generated. I do, however, use Canva for image editing, social media content creation, and some printed content to help with sizing and alignment, and Canva does implement their own AI tools, so this would be the only place you may see any type of AI. I do not think the answer to fighting the oversaturation of the internet with AI is to go insane on people who use it, as this is only more likely to get you dismissed entirely when there are really good points that can be made in your favor. Likewise, I don’t think people who use AI are inherently evil. Locally run models trained on your own personal database can be a great alternative with no negative impact, and, truthfully, when it comes to environmental impact, we should always be going after those doing the most damage: The corporations and the politicians endorsing them. Like most things, this topic is nuanced, even if people seem sort of incapable of nuance right now.

Tl;dr: I don’t use AI in any of my artwork or writing. I hate AI and I hate its impact, but I don’t necessarily hate people who use AI. I am more inclined to dislike people who use AI for every little thing, who share AI to write content or create “art” that pollutes the internet for real writers and artists (and musicians, and crafters, and whatever else, etc.). I don’t have a visceral, foaming-at-the-mouth response to AI. I find that this is counterproductive and a symptom of a very angry culture which loves to misdirect that anger to their fellow man rather than the people truly responsible (corporations, politicians, and people oversaturating specific spaces for human creators).

What are your thoughts on [sociopolitical topic]?

Unless I explicitly share my thoughts on a particular topic on my websites or social media, I am electing to keep those thoughts private unless and until I feel it worth sharing. For one, I want to focus on my work and my efforts to improve society through that work. There are enough people giving opinions I have on other spaces on the internet. I do not need to echo everything. Generally, I feel that we need to push the internet back toward anonymity and allowing people to have personal lives again – versus the climate we have right now where you can say one thing people disagree with which leads them to take it upon themselves to scrape your entire internet presence for an unrelated gotcha. Two, I am completely against cancel culture as it currently stands. There is information worth sharing and boycotts worth having, but what we have now is witch hunts and stripping of livelihood over more than just the things that would morally call for such a response. I believe in free speech and expression and the ability to share stupid ideas online even if we do not like them. I believe to feel any other way is a slippery slope, because in doing that, you are giving the keys to your freedom of expression to the people in charge, and as we should know by now, we usually cannot trust the people in charge. It is my belief that the only way you can truly change culture is by addressing it at the root rather than by pruning branches that will simply grow back.

At this time, the only things I am open to sharing my opinions on at this time are the current issues of human trafficking, corporate and political corruption, rampant pollution of the air, water, land, and food, the degeneration of the internet by our technocratic overlords, and war and violence. If you think any of these things are a “conspiracy theory” (which – for all the “out there” theories which may exist – shouldn’t even be a derogatory term to begin with, because shutting down any kind of conversation like this is what causes corruption to truly thrive) or that any of these things “good” so long as they align with your interests, please avoid my online presence. If you are the type of person who makes assumptions about people based on things they haven’t explicitly said, please avoid my online presence. Actually, if you just thrive on arguments (that you probably call “debates”) in general, please avoid my online presence. If I have not said something outright, you do not know my opinion on it. Again, you can ask me about opinions I haven’t spoken on, but I am not obligated to respond. Society is currently rabid; I know better.
